Steinberg UR824 - misljenja?

Ovo je sa Gearslutza....navodno su problem sa linkovanim svim izlazima i master knobom resili novim updateom firmware-a.Koliko je to problematicno i kretenski mislim da ne vredi ni pominjati.Hoces da saljes signal u externi fx , a on ti dozvoljava tacno onoliko gaina koliko ti je na CR izlazu???!!!! Ludilo

hm, al ovi pominju MR816 a mi pričamo o UR824? Jesi se zabunio ili je to ista karta sa drugom oznakom?

Ja sam pitao za UR824, ne za MR816 X. A za MR-ove preampe, nasao sam ovo:

I jedna i druga dele istu arhitekturu i iste probleme.
Price sa Gearslutza o spustenom gainu i kao to je to , su totalno bezvezne.
Npr , izadjes externo u tube eq ili kompresor , sum kod boljih je na ?85 db,kada se vracas u karticu , automatski dodajes jos najmanje 10db ,sto znaci da najmanje toliko moras da smanjis na izlazu iz DA u spravu da bi izbegao clliping AD, sto u realnosti znaci da si digao sum za najmanje 10 do 15db.Stavise pricam po secanju , a cini mi se da su brojke jos gore.
Baci pogled na signal to noise na Inputu , ako ga uopste prikazuju negde...manual ili slicno.

The dspMixFx utility is used to control the UR824 when not being used with Cubase.

The first time I*used the UR824, I*did so with an external preamp feeding the line inputs, and was surprised to find that even a*conservative signal from the preamp was clipping them. A*quick delve into the manual revealed that the line inputs are routed through the preamps, and the range of the gain pots spans +16 to +60dB. In other words, the preamp is always boosting any input by at least 16dB, so it's hardly surprising that a*typical line-level input will clip! Thankfully, Steinberg have provided input pads, switchable individually for the first two channels and in pairs for the other six analogue inputs, which attenuate the input signal by 26dB, so the effective gain range is -10 to +60dB, but there's no easy way of setting a*unity gain level. Some manufacturers manage to implement 'proper' line inputs that don't go through the preamps, so this arrangement is perhaps slightly disappointing, but in practice you're unlikely to notice any audible degradation of line-level signals by simply keeping the gain at minimum, engaging the pad and compensating for the lost 10dB in software. On the plus side, I*was pleased to see that there are separate +48V phantom power switches for each input pair, rather than a*single global switch.

Possibly due to a*misunderstanding of Steinberg's stated specifications, a*myth has circulated that the MR816's preamps offered a*humungous 84dB gain; this figure was widely quoted (including in SOS's own review) but actually referred to the total system gain from mic input to line output rather than that of the preamp per se.

U ovoj svoj prici o preampima je po meni najbitnije da signal nema degradaciju iako se predpojacala ne mogu zaobici. Mozda prvi put djeluje konfuzno kako napraviti dobar omjer signala, ali kad se udje u fazon ja ne vidim ovdje neku katastrofu?
