Default Re: Industrial techno

treba pomenuti i slovake i blueprint ekipu...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fpFG6...eature=related rumenige

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n6NE1...eature=related 65d mavericks

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jvABB...eature=related
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=snlQy...eature=related (isti ljudi)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uIt9rJFYaiU (obscurum - dom i obscurum - seaborn)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vOSB-...eature=related (isti ljudi)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DIA5f6kGVfk
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Ydw0EcQxbo

Default Re: Industrial techno

evo relativno svezheg intervjua sa chika regisom

Quote:
Q. how did you get into making music?

A. My favourite colour/color is GOLD.

Q. your music feels very aggressive and dark, can you elaborate on this?

A. Well i feel it to be very gentle and light to be honest. I have
always made music by instinct, real soul music. I would never
contrive to make something dark or aggressive.

Q. are there any visual artists, painters at present you feel are on
the same general frequency as you? filmmakers, writers?

A . The people that directly inspire my music are .....

The painter Val Denham. In my opinion he/she is one of the finest
British painters of the last 40 years ( he/she did cover art for
Throbbing Gristle, Marc and The Mambas etc ) i am lucky enough to
own some of his/her originals.

Writers such as Beckett, Eza Pound inspire me as do Jean Genet and
Georges Bataille.

Film Makers such as Nick Zedd, Richard Kern,Derek Jarman etc...

Q. has downwards been an overall success for you? are you able to get by
on your music work or do you need to hold down a job in addition to
that?

A. Working is for the "Lower Orders" .... i'm an artist Darling ...
always was and always will be !!!

Q. what do you think of the techno scene in america these days?

A. I think most of it now lives in Europe.

Q. the sandwell district label is an interesting development using many
of the downwards guys but having things slowed down and new ideas
thrown in. thoughts?

A. I have to say i find SANDWELL DISTRICT a very odd enterprise. We
already had a sub-label in DN so i'm not really sure what the
motivation behind the label was. I assume ( something one should never
do ) that it was based on some critical examination of Downwards (circa
2002 ), ie, a reflective consideration and evaluation of it's relevance
in the contemporary era. I have to give credit to David Sumner for
giving it heart, soul and direction in the last few years.

Q. why did you leave british murder boys?

A. " Festivals End, As Festivals Must "

Q. some of the really sinister tracks around 1999-2001 that have
chanting, i.e. the stuff on divine ritual, blood into gold; etc. did
you pick those chants arbitrarily for the phonetic quality or is
there some direct meaning in the words?

A. I was reading a book on how people induced religious hallucinations
through mantras ( nothing really earth shattering there ) what really
grabbed my attention was that in some cases due to the repetition in a
certain vocal tone or vibration, the brain was rewired ( a bit like
Infrasound ) and made some people self harm repeatedly because they
were locked into the cycle. " Give Me Your Ears, Split Open Your
Head". I think that pretty much summed up where i was at and what i
was going for at the time.

Q. what were some of the musical artists you loved the most before you
got into making music?

A. Nico, Patti Smith, Pussy Galore, Head of David,Stooges,Roxy
Music,Scott Walker, Brel,Bowie,Cabaret Voltaire,Swell Maps,Joe Meek,
Zev,Virgin Prunes,Crass,Neu, This Heat,NON,Einsturzende
Neubauten,Swans ,Wire,The Associates,DAF,Desperate Bicycles,The Pop
Group,The Birthday Party,Foetus,
Billy Fury,Dave Howard Singers,Howard Devoto,Gary Glitter,Test
Department,Steel Pulse,
Johnny Thunders,The The,John Cale,Gene Vincent,Big Black,Marc And The
Mambas,Bogshed, Big Flame,Fad Gadget,
Robert Rental,Sex Gang Children,Barbara,Holger Hiller,Der Plan, World
Domination Enterprise, 13th Floor Elevators,
Kluster,Rema Rema etc......

Q. are you interested in the current us presidential election race?
thoughts?

A. Politics is for people who can't run their own lives.

Q. the most recent track you did w/ peter sutton 'chaos' on that dust
science comp explores the strings/ classical music side of things in a
dancefloor friendly context, can we expect more of this? it is an
incredible track.

A. Well it's a really old track from '97. It was recorded "live" in the
back room of the legendary "ORBIT" club on New
Years Eve 1997/98. I really do like it too, it's quite unlike anything we
had done before or since.

Q. what in your discography are you most proud of?

A. I think it's a really odd collection of Tracks/12"s /Albums , but i
stand by all of it.

Q. you have a reputation as being one of the most underground people in
the world of techno. any comment on this?

A. Just as Lead is a parody of Gold and Coitus is a parody of
Crime ....... Regis is a parody of Underground

Q. a lot of the titles for you tracks mix wry humor with malevolence.
reminds me of sarcastic punk rock of the 80's. comments? thoughts?

A. Well i feel them to be considered and authentic . I have never been
anything other than honest and sincere in my work. I always found
due to the lack of narrative within dance music i found a need to
create my
own world around each release.

Q. i notice you do a whole lot of collaborative work. do you find that
making music with another person gets your creativity flowing in a way
that solo production does not?

A. I don't really collaborate that much. I have only ever worked ( in a
studio sense ) with the same core people that i
have always worked with.I thrive off different situations/set
ups/studios/working methods .

Q. who is your favorite philosopher?

A. Brain Clough.
