kao i prosle godine, Dis-patch festival ce i ove godine, u saradnji sa Ableton Live kompanijom, organizovati takmicenje za pravljenje kompozicije u ovom programu, a glavne nagrade su originalni paketi Live-a.

In 2009, Dis-patch is continuing its long-term collaboration with Ableton, one of the leading companies from the realms of music and sound design software, due to the success of the ever-expanding platform for production and live performance - Ableton "Live".


The collaboration started already for the 2nd festival edition in 2003, while the latest two editions in 2007 and 2008 featured talks, presentations, a workshop in collaboration with Higher School of Electrical Engineering and, finally, two very successful track competitions which offered a great chance to the local authors to learn and win free software packages of Ableton.


The competitions for producers which have been presented by Dis-patch motivated around 30 local authors to send in their works in the last two years, while also giving them an extra temptation - a task to produce a track or a sound piece with Ableton Live based on one single sample sound, or using only the recording of human voice as raw material. This way we aim at developing the producers' skills, while at the same time presenting the powerful potentials of Live as a tool.

NOTE: The track competition is valid only for authors based in Serbia!


The task for this year is to make your own track only by using Live's Operator instrument, using only MIDI tracks, and not using any audio tracks. You can use all Live's built in effects (midi and audio), but the use of 3rd party VSTs is not allowed.


The jury selecting the best tracks will be comprised of members of the DIs-patch team and guest artists. If you have any questions regarding the rules, please get in touch with the contest coordinator - pieceofshh@gmail.com


The winners will be notified by email and will be able to pick up their prizes at the final festival after party at Cultural Center Grad on Nov 8th, from 10 PM.


THE PRIZES

Three best submissions will receive copies of Ableton Live, in three gradual variations:

1st prize - Ableton Live Suite box (including manual)
2nd prize - Ableton Live 8 box
3rd prize - Ableton Live 7 LE box

ne znam da li slican festival postoji u hrvatskoj, ljudi iz abletona bi sigurno saradjivali sa organizatorima slicnih desavanja.
