To znači da neprilagođena ("pogrešna") impedansa (otpor) menja boju instrumenta, a ne samo jačinu. Odnosno, ako npr. "utakneš" gitaru u Line In, signal neće biti samo tiši, nego će i drugačije zvučati. Isto važi i za bilo koju drugu "pogrešnu" kombinaciju raznih vrsta inputa (Mic, Line, Hi-Z).
