Default AES: Steinberg podrzava Multi-Core procesore

Quote:
Big performance gains on Intel and AMD

It’s always the way with new processors, they may be capable of amazing things, offering the world and more on a stick, but unless the software is optimized to take full advantage, it means diddly. Thankfully, Steinberg have been working on support for the the Multi-processor and Multi-Core CPUs and have just announced that it has released advanced optimizations for Cubase SX3 and Nuendo 3 products.
“For audio pros working with our current Cubase and Nuendo systems this means a dramatic increase in performance for plug-ins, virtual instruments and more audio tracks,” says Claus Menke, Steinberg’s Director of Product Management. “As the performance of these new processors scales up, we will instantly put these added CPU resources at the fingertips of our users,” he continues, adding: “What's more, these new technologies are available right now, so our customers can use their existing plug-ins and instruments without having to wait for new operating systems and compatible software.”

Commenting on the new generations of multi-core chips, company founder Karl Steinberg points to the dramatic effects the new multi-core technologies will have for audio professionals. “Together with our colleagues in the chip industry we can provide solutions that can effectively multiply CPU resources available,” he says. “Thanks to our advanced multiprocessor support and processor optimization, Cubase and Nuendo users can instantly experience the performance benefit of these new processors,” Steinberg continues.

“We are pleased to have collaborated with Steinberg on these new AMD64-based systems. Steinberg’s benchmarking results show that the Dual Core AMD Opteron™ processor has the performance lead for multi-threaded Cubase and Nuendo applications,” said Charlie Boswell, director of Digital Media and Entertainment for AMD. “Artists staking their name and reputation on their creative output can do so with confidence with Cubase/Nuendo on top of AMD64 processors because it allows them to stay in the creative moment without fear of their technology not being able to keep up.”

Steinberg's Cubase SX3 and Nuendo 3 software workstations both feature Steinberg’s Advanced Dynamic Multiprocessing technology. This allocates processing tasks dynamically to ensure the most efficient use of all available CPU resources. Steinberg's multi-core processor support harnesses the full potential not only of dual-core processors, but supports any number of physical processors or processor cores, allocating processing tasks dynamically between them.

Default AES: Nuendo v3.2

nova verzija nuenda predstavljena na AES-u..

Quote:
Steinberg today debuted the latest update to Nuendo at the 119th AES convention in New York. Featuring a range of new Control Room features Nuendo 3.2 will be available as an update for registered Nuendo 3 customers from the end of 2005.

Nuendo 3.2 features a full Control Room section that provides up to four separate Studio outputs, extra Mix, Headphone and Control Room busses as well as configurable Input Returns and user definable Monitor Setups. Each Nuendo audio, group, FX return and VSTi channel now includes new Studio Sends allowing each signal to be routed to any of the four Studios. The integrated talkback functionality enables engineers and producers to speak directly to musicians, narrators or other performers in any of the studios, automatic dimming and separate Talkback levels are also provided.

Should playback from external sources such as DAT, Tape or CD be required for a performer, up to six playback inputs can be instantly selected and routed to any Studio, Track, Headphone or Control Room bus. User definable Monitor Configurations can be setup for quick changing of monitoring setups and extensive fold-down and solo operations such as "Rear to Front" or "Solo to Center" grant easy audition of compatibility on the output side.

The above Control Room features are already integrated into the WK Audio ID Controller, a custom-made, expandable editing and mixing surface that has been engineered especially for use with Nuendo 3. The update to Nuendo 3.2 also expands the functionality available through the EuCon protocol, which integrates Nuendo directly into editing and mixing environments based around the renowned Euphonix MC and System 5-MC products. Nuendo 3.2 now adds support for the optional dual automated joysticks, in turn allowing direct control of the Nuendo surround panner through both of these advanced digital control surfaces.
