Generativnu gramatiku Noama Čomskog smo imali za diplomski na fakultetu. U vreme kad je nastala ta teorija je mnogima izgledala kao nepotrebno dubinsko analiziranje nečega ?to je ionako (na povr?ini) svakome dobro poznato. U narednim godinama se ispostavilo da je taj pristup primenljiv i u drugim oblastima, prvenstveno za razumevanje kompjuterskih programskih jezika (po?to je sistem u stvari vrlo sličan algoritmima), a evo i u muzici.

The most well-known approaches were developed by Mark Steedman as well as Fred Lerdahl and Ray Jackendoff, who formalised and extended ideas from Schenkerian analysis.
