In the past a few musicians have found that the PCMCIA controller chips on their laptop motherboards caused problems with certain Cardbus audio interfaces, so Emu have done their best to check as many as possible, and have posted a list on their web site, as well as a list of compatible laptop models. To this list I can add my own Compal CL50 model with its ENE CB1410 Cardbus controller, which gave no problems during the course of this review. These are the PCMCIA controller chips that Emu have found to be compatible so far (although others may also work):
ENE Technology CD-1410.
O2 Micro OZ 6912/711E0.
O2 Micro OZ711EC1.
Ricoh R/RL/RT/RC/5C475(II), R5C520.
TI PCI-1420, PCI-1450, PCI-1520.
